Fast & Furious Hobbs & Shaw Trailer - Ridiculously awesome and crazy
If you are in the age range between 20 and 30 and scrolling through DriveTribe you've most likely grown up influenced by the Fast & Furious franchise. In its early days, it was THE car culture filming influencing a whole generation of young car enthusiasts and the 'rice' tuning style.
That came and went, nowadays original F&F modifying style became passe and cringy, the franchise itself went a bit of the rails, it's more about crazy action and less about cars. The action became frankly a little too ridiculous to be taken seriously anymore.
So they made a spin-off that looks to not take itself seriously one bit, and I for once freaking love it. Take a look at the trailer.
Crazy action feels fun to watch as even the film doesn't take it seriously with the on-screen banter between Hobbs (Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson) and Shaw (Jason Statham) making it quite clear that nobody really cars about realism.
Is it ambitious? No. Will it be a masterpiece? I doubt it. Will I go and watch it for the sheer laughs? Hell yes! Who doesn't want to see The Rock dancing the Haka whilst fighting Idris Elba playing a genetically enhanced soldier or simply 'The Black Superman? There are also some hot cars in between, so that's nice I guess.
