A couple of weeks ago, I - just about - managed to publish a blog asking you guys to vote for your favourite car from the Frankfurt Motor Show. Well, after 249 votes, it appears we have a winner. Out of the twelve cars making their public debut, ties in the results mean they can be arranged into 8 places. So then, here we go...
8th Place: Porsche Cayenne Turbo - 0% of the vote
The biggest surprise about this is that despite appearing to have 0% of the vote, someone actually did choose the Cayenne Turbo as their favourite car from the show! I didn’t even know Katie Price read my blogs!
7th Place: Audi RS4 B9 - 2% of the vote
The turd of an engine wasn’t enough to keep 5 people from voting this their favourite car from Frankfurt.
Joint 6th Place: BMW Z4 Concept, Renault Megane RS, Audi R8 V10 RWS, Ferrari Portofino - 4% of the vote
I’m quite speechless than the new and wonderful Audi R8 RWS drew with the Renault Megane RS. Everyone to their own, I guess. But out of this lot, the Ferrari Portofino pulled in the most votes. However, due to the total number of votes, all of these cars are tied at 4%.
5th Place: Bentley Continental GT - 5% of the vote
The new and stunningly beautiful Conti GT only just pulled ahead of the Ferrari Portofino in the vote. As a GT car, I would definitely take the Bentley over the Fezza any day of the week.
Joint 4th Place: BMW M5 F90, Lamborghini Aventador S Roadster - 6% of the vote
Lamborghini’s V12 flagship couldn’t win the popularity vote over BMW’s latest super-saloon. But, as politics has taught us, just because you don’t win the popularity vote doesn’t mean you won’t win the race. On a track, I’d take the Lambo; for everything else, the BMW.
3rd Place: Aspark Owl - 8% of the vote

People do seem to like an electric hypercar that promises absurd acceleration, like the Aspark Owl, that will apparently do 0-60mph in less than 2 seconds. Whether it actually makes it to production or not is up for debate.
2nd Place: Mercedes-AMG Project One - 27% of the vote
You were expecting this one to win, weren’t you? And it would’ve...if the question was “which is the best car from Frankfurt 2017?”. But it wasn’t. I asked people to tell me their favourite car, which can be - and has proven to be - a completely different thing. So bear that in mind before you start shouting “BULLSHIT” in capitals all over my blog.
WINNER: Porsche 991.2 GT3 Touring Package - 29% of the vote
Only a few votes separated the Porsche from the Mercedes, but the GT3 TP is officially the car the majority of people favour from this year’s Frankfurt.
Instead of ending the vote there, I’m going to leave it running a bit and see if anything changes. But anyway, thank you all for voting!
