Favourite Places - Earls Barton CCM

It's not Monaco or Monterey, but this field just off the A45 has quite an eclectic array of metal gathered for one evening a month

Earls Barton isn't high on anyone's list of exotic car destinations, but it's just one of hundreds of places around the UK which host regular Classic Car Meetings. On the first Wednesday of each month between May and October, one of the fields at White's Nurseries is dedicated to the parking of whoever turns up. The cars range from vintage survivors to new sportscars, and there is no rhyme nor reason to the parking layout. There can be up to 500 cars an evening, and they squeeze in wherever they will fit.

It counts as my local car meet, as it's only 2 miles from my home. Provided the weather is agreeable, it's no hardship to pop over and wander around to see what's there. Most owners are happy to chat about their cars (as long as they aren't already on their own little walking tours). It's great to see the variety of cars that turn up, and there are always a few surprises among the regulars.

So, please enjoy these images I've taken over the past couple of years, and consider where you're going to go this year to feed your automotive passion. Will it be near, or far (or ideally, both)?
