Featured Auction - 1956 AC Aceca Bristol
The base for the Shelby Cobra was a brilliant little roadster from England called the AC Ace.
Before the fender flares and big V8, the Ace was an attractive, narrow bodied car that didn't have a gigantic V8. Alongside the Ace, AC made about 100 coupes called the Aceca. The Aceca was a delicate coupe, and one of the very first hatchbacks. And Carroll Shelby never got his hands on one. The rumor is though, that there is one Aceca somewhere out there with a V8 under the hood, but nobody knows where it is or if it even exists. Without the V8, the Aceca is more E-Type than Cobra, and some say its better for it.
The Aceeca's smooth inline 6 pretty much gives it the engine from a prewar BMW 328, in a beautiful british sports car. It's not fast by todays standards, but it's balanced and drives incredibly with that engine.
