Ladies and gentlemen, the rumours are over and the real talking has started. Ferrari has confirmed that their first fully electric supercar will roll out of Maranello in 2025.

CEO John Elkann said: “You can be sure this will be everything you dream the engineers and designers at Maranello can imagine for such a landmark in our history."

Ferrari will also race in the hypercar class at LeMans in 2023 which will give the boffins at Maranello some more experience with electrification.

"Our interpretation and application of these technologies both in motorsport and in road cars is a huge opportunity to bring the uniqueness and passion of Ferrari to new generations," said Ferrari's head honcho.

While Elkan didn't give any further information about the electric supercar, he has said that 2022 "will also be a year of important new product launches and particularly the Purosangue, which is turning out to be something truly special."
