Ferrari's next Icona-series supercar looks a lot like the 1967 330 P4

And that's no bad thing

Ferrari's next upcoming Icona-series supercar has been spotted testing and it looks a lot like a classic racer from the brand's archive.

This early test mule posted to a Ferrari forum appears to resemble parts of the iconic Ferrari 330 P4 from the late 1960s. It is often referred to as being the Italian brand's best-looking supercar and these people aren't wrong. These were fully bred race cars and did quite well too – coming second in the 1967 Le Mans race.

Ferrari has not confirmed whether the new Icona supercar is actually inspired by the 330 P4, but judging by these photos, it may just be. Just look at its low sloping lines and curves – especially at the front.

It is likely this new supercar will be revealed by the end of 2021 and it is expected to sit on the same chassis as the LaFerrari Aperta and be powered by the 812 Competizione's 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine producing 830 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque.
