Alfa Romeo remains a very important brand for many of us. Despite the very disappointing sales results for the beginning of 2019, the public's passion for the Biscione brand is not fading. This commercial decline even tends to exert an additional fascination!
To awaken fans to the brand's future, Alfa Romeo unveiled the Tonale, a large electric SUV that heralds a turning point in the Milanese company's history. But it will be until 2022 that the Tonale becomes a reality. This announcement has already aroused the imagination of many graphic designers like Showcar who, inspired by the Tonale, decided to reproduce the Giulietta's replacement.
With its very fine and equally sculpted lights, the new Giulietta will adopt a particularly seductive and dynamic style. It could also be based on the Jeep Compass platform and would use some of the SUV's engines. In addition, there would be a plug-in hybrid powertrain combined with the 150 hp 1.3 Firefly petrol engine, which is already available on the Fiat 500X SUV. The electric motor would power the rear wheels, creating a four-wheel drive architecture.
This solution could drastically reduce consumption and CO2 emissions, a criterion that will prove even more important in the future. To satisfy the pleasure of the fans, an explosive Quadrifoglio version will most probably top the range. But the Giulia Quadrifoglio's 2.9L V6 will be missing because it's too big. The sporty Giulietta will opt for a four-cylinder engine powered by an electric motor. We now have to wait for an indefinite period of time...
