First McLaren F1 Imported Into The US To Be Auctioned
A very special car is going up for sale!
The McLaren F1, a concept put together by Gordon Murray, released in 1992 and instantly went down as one of the best cars in history. Powered by a naturally aspirated 6.1L V12 engine, the F1 produces reaches 60MPH in just 3.4 seconds.
To own an F1 would be a dream come true for most petrolheads, this one however has that extra something. This 1995 model is being offered at Bonhams auction at Quail Lodge in August, and is the very first model to be imported into the US and made road legal.
This McLaren F1 will be sold at Quail Lodge in August by Bonhams Auctions
The car has had the same owner since new and is model number 44 out of 64. The story behind this particular F1 is that the owner picked it up from McLaren in Woking in 1995, and immediately took it on a road trip across Europe. Following the roadtrip, the car was shipped to the US, where modifications were made to ensure it met US safety and emissions regulations.
How much do you think this will sell for at auction?
In the 22 years of single ownership, this F1 has covered 9,600 miles! The only question that remains, is which kidney would you give to own it?!
