The all new Alaska looks a lot like it is based on the recently unveiled Ocean SUV. That's because it probably is. The Ocean being about the size of a Honda CR-V, the Alaska will not be one of these huge pick-up trucks. But quite a bit smaller. Probably close in size to the upcoming Santa-Cruz from Hyundai.
Which is actually a great size for many. Especially people living in urban areas where the gargantuan trucks from GM, Ford or RAM are just a huge pain to drive around every day.
Since it is from Fisker, this will be electric only. The Ocean has a 300 miles EV range, so expect something similar for the Alaska. Which is plenty.
As for the price, it should be a bit cheaper than the Ocean, which starts at $37 500 before any incentives.
So, even at $35 000, it could very well end up around $25 000 after incentives, depending on where you live. Which is a great price. And will provide serious competition to the establish players from Honda, Ford and GM (Since RAM does not offer a mid-sized pick-up yet)
This could very well end ups being a game changer. Not only for EVs, but the pick up market in general. Offering a very sensible, modern and electric alternative.
