[SATIRE]
Fisker Automotive’s namesake Henrik Fisker released teaser images on Thursday for the brand’s new electric SUV. The news comes after the brand was resuscitated in 2014 to the beat of Staying Alive, and millions of Chinese dollars. Along with a teaser image, the designer also announced the purchase price; forty thousand dollars. This of course makes the completely safe assumption you may one day be able to actually buy one.
Sources at Fisker paint a somewhat hazy picture of what is actually going on, however. According to our sources, the Fisker facility employs about twenty people, only two of which are working on the car.
A short, unclear cellphone video showed about eighteen employees on the roof. Accompanying these employees are about a dozen pigs, and aerofoils of various size and dimension. The short video seems to show pigs with wings strapped to them being prepared to leap from the roof, but the video ends before any pig can actually be seen gliding to presumed safety.
Fisker himself has denied the validity of this video publicly, claiming on Twitter that they have only so far tried thousands of helium balloons.

Well said.
That's a sharp satire, and it's very refreshing to read .
As famous Enlightenment era clear thinker and economics researcher Adam Smith famously said once or twice :
" Science is the great antidote for the poison of enthusiasm and superstition. "
Or something like that.
If something sounds too good to be true, it usually is.
I read a little story recently, written by P.J. O'Rourke, famous motoring economics researcher. He said words to the effect that , whilst the average person is capable of working reasonably well, and clearly , various private individuals and private companies, can achieve the construction of a certain level of moderate wealth producing things, like factories, Walmarts, highways, Ford sedans, dental practices, and fossil fuel powered gadgets, unfortunately on average people aren't particularly good at investing.
The upshot is that our achievements, and bank balances tend to fall short of our aspirations, and most people end up in the middle class.
So when a company comes along with grandiose claims about unproven technologies, I'm left wondering why someone hasn't already achieved it. And the answer is that it simply isn't commercially or practically feasible and it won't stand on it's own two feet.
The hidden financial costs of heavy borrowing to build silly things is starting to bite very hard.
I'm flat out keeping a couple of 20 year old Holden V6 sedans running and roadworthy. I watch my budget, and in my spare time, in my moments of what I perceive as clarity, I post money saving thoughts and ideas on DriveTribe and Facebook.
I look for cost effective bridge construction and highway maintenance technologies, and I'm glad to see a return on investment of automated manufacturing and ergonomic tools. If we are careful, and watch our pennies, we will have a reasonably comfortable life.
Keep up the sharp satire, again, well done.
Maybe.
