Focus clocked at 703 km/h in Italy

Bugatti, move aside...

Up until recently we all though that RS Focus is the fastest one but, according to Italian police, it isn't.

Few days ago, a lady in Alcona, in Italy, driving her previous gen Focus, got her rozzer's letter saying she was clocked doing exactly 703 km/h. Not 70.3 km/h, it's full 703 km/h or some 437 mph. And the speed limit is 70 km/h. She was really pushing it.

Fine - 847 EUR, ten points and she had to gave up her license for some time. Of course, this was caused by a faulty camera, but it's interesting that noone in the police administration didn't (or didn't want to) notice this and they just kept going with the usual procedure. What is more interesting, after she complained, they insisted on paying the fine and then ask for a refund.

Bureaucracy is a nasty mistress and if you see a Focus in the mirror, step aside... it's a USS Enterprise in disguise...

  • In Italy that's totally plausable.

  • Wow, you couldn’t achieve that if you dropped it from space.

Whilst I would agree only in Italy, I suspect that would happen around the world. Just a good thing she didn’t get banned in error causing a whole host of other issues.
