Hermann SalenbauchThe Ford gt carbon series will stand out on the road with it's striking, carbon fibre rich design and on track with it's athleticism"
The new 2019 Ford GT Carbon Series will be a lighter, more track focussed variant of the already amazing Ford GT.
The Carbon Series will shed around 18kg from the original weight, meaning it now weighs around 1,503 kg. This is thanks to the all new carbon fibre wheels and revised polycarbonate engine cover. As well as these things, the GT has a titanium exhaust and titanium wheel nuts. The car will feature exposed carbon fibre A pillars and lower body panels to help with the weight loss programme Ford have taken the GT on.
There is an optional accent package which offers 4 colour choices (silver, orange, red or blue) with matching mirror caps, centre stripe and brake callipers. The seats in the GT have a unique silver stitching pattern which carries onto the steering wheel. As you can see, the one in these pictures is grey and red which goes exceptionally well with the exposed carbon fibre bits. Despite this being a track focussed car, it will still have the essentials such as A/C, radio/SYNC 3. But no cupholders! (not that you will need these when you're thrashing the car around Brands hatch).
The global director of Ford Performance has said that "this is yet another example of how we can bring to life our Le Mans winning supercar in new and exciting ways". Ford have developed this car to please their customers needs for a more track focussed GT and they have nailed it! I can't wait to hopefully see one of these in person.

Although growing up near the U.S. car capital, Detroit, for a number of years in my youth, I can't say I'm much of an American car fan, but you gotta admit Ford's nailed it and made me proud with this one. And a Le Mans winner straight out the gate.
Ford has been ruining a lot of their interiors lately with a huge gray blob of plastic that they insist on putting in the center of the wheel. Why, Ford? At least in a Mustang there's a nice metal logo on top of that. Didn't the GT deserve at least that much?
I couldn't agree more
For the man (or woman) who thought a £400,000 price tag for a Ford was just to damn cheap :)
Im still not a complete devotee of the GT, but this version in this colour may finally change my mind.
