Ford has put an end to the Taurus...again. The last time we said good-bye was when Ford shuttered the model for a short time in 2006. Just a few years later they decided to resurrect it by sticking the Taurus name on a face-lifted Five Hundred. That is until yesterday, when again Ford announced that the vehicle rolling off the Chicago plant's assembly line was indeed the final one. Well, you know what they say - you only live twice these days!
The Taurus first appeared in the '80s, as a fearless new design direction Ford took on. It was a smooth ride, and the aero-shaped sedan made competing Chevy offerings look outdated.
Even if Ford already brought the Taurus sedan back once, it's unlikely to do it again. However, it's unlikely for the Taurus to be brought back for the third time as it's end is due to Ford's grand plan to eliminate everything but trucks, SUVs and of course the Mustang.
