Ford GT40 - The Ferrari Eater

1y ago

It was easier to photograph this 1965 Ford GT40 than some other cars, because it sat lower than the barriers :)

Sadly no longer viewable at Gosford Classic Cars, this GT40 has been sold to some lucky owner!

A Bit about the GT40

The Ford GT40 was built with a single objective, winning the Le Mans 24 Hour Race.

After a stuttery start and a re-design, The GT40 hit this lofty target four times every year from 1966 to 1969 and also won the Sports Car Championship for Ford in 1968.

The GT40 triumphed almost universally across motor sport, driven by World Champions and privateers alike.

Following the first Le Mans victory, a road version was released to the public.

It was fitted with the Ford 289 cubic inch V8 and had a maximum speed of 164 mph.

An amazing car with a legend that will live on.

  • That is just a beautiful car! The interior on these is very interesting to me. Minimal, but still very nice.
