Ford is working on a 'send-off' edition for the GT and it looks promising
Massive roof scoop, massive rear wing, massive exhaust tips
Ford will axe the GT from its line-up in 2022 but this outrageous supercar will get a proper send off with a swan song edition, which will make it look even more outrageous. We don't know much about it but a white prototype was recently spied without any camouflage and apart from the manufacturer registration plates, the massive roof scoop and larger rear wing stand out.
The roof scoop and wing look a lot like the components that Ford used for the track-only GT Mk II - unveiled in 2019 at Goodwood and limited to 45 units only - and the 700-hp 3.5-liter EcoBoost twin-turbo engine will likely be upgraded as well.
When asked about the GT prototype, Ford remained cryptic and said the car isn't " Ford Motor Company property", which is technically probably true simply because the prototype might be owned by Multimatic (see graphics on the side of the car), a Canadian company that Ford teamed up with to build the GT - on its rear wheel arches.
Should Ford build a new electric GT or should they just let it rest in peace?
