Ford has recently released a facelifted EcoSport model and the UK TV advert has left me scratching my head.
The EcoSport is a small crossover that is based on the Fiesta footprint, it has always been an ugly duckling and also the revised one is slightly less fugly, it's name confuses me. I have always thought it is called EcoSport, alas no, I am wrong. The UK TV advert actually states that it's called EchoSport.
The advert is here, 0:19 seconds is where you start to hear the name -
So then Mr Ford, please explain this?
Car
Engine
So is this an EchoBoost engine now? or is it double standards? am I pronouncing the model range right? Do I need to shout out "Echo, Echo, echo, echo" when one trundles by?
Is my Ford Fiesta supposed to be pronounced, Ford Fester? Is a Ford Focus, supposed to be pronounced FocUS?
Rant over ;0) So, have you noticed other vehicle related marketing bullshit?
