Ford SYNC 4 Will Save Drivers Time And Money
Ford's new SYNC 4 infotainment system will find cheap gas and vacant parking spaces.
Ford has unveiled the SYNC 4 infotainment system, a feature that will now save drivers money by finding cheap gas - or electricity - and parking spaces while taking fees into account.
1. SYNC 4 will first be equipped in the 2021 Mach-E, Bronco, and F-150.
2. Data from INRIX will allow SYNC 4 to find you open parking spaces and cheap gas in over 20,000 cities in 150 countries.
By using INRIX data, SYNC 4 will have the ability to find the closest street or garage parking, and inform the driver about any fees or restrictions. In addition, it will supply you with all the information about the closest gas stations and parking spaces, including the price, rating, location, and phone number. This new infotainment system will come with larger screens, over-the-air updates, and machine learning which will allow it to make useful suggestions based on prior activity.
There Must Be A Catch...Is It Free?
For the most part, however, although it will be standard on all 2021 F-150 trim levels, the parking and gas feature is part of an optional navigation system. While this is annoying, it makes sense and shouldn't be too expensive. If I were to make a guess, I would say $300-$400.
Ford's SYNC 4 is long awaited, seeing as SYNC 3 was introduced back in 2014. I think they did a great job with this new system, especially since they will constantly be improving it via over-the-air updates.
