Ford to close India manufacturing operations
The time has come guys. The American car manufacturer Ford is now going to leave India.
▫️manufacturing of vehicles for sale in India will stop immediately.
▫️manufacturing of vehicles for export will wind down at sanand by Q4 2021 and Chennai engine and vehicle assembly will be shut by Q2 2022.
▫️Ford brand will however continue to operate in India with cbu models like mustang.
▫️sales of current products will cease once existing dealer inventories are sold.
▫️ford will continue full customer support operations for these vehicles.
Ford has built some amazing cars for India like the endeavor, ecosport etc. Even my dad owned a ford figo it was one of the best carshe have ever owned. It never gave us a problem and we had many happy memories with it. The main reason for fords not being sold in India is because they have better alternatives like Suzuki swift instead of the ford figo because it is less expensive and cheaper to maintain but the swift is not safe as far as I see many Indian dont consider safety as their first priority they just want the fuel efficiency (sorry I didn't want to create any offense but our first priority while buying a car should be safety). The same thing may happen to Volkswagen and skoda too because they also don't have sales. Ford has always been a great company India and its cars will be missed so much. What do you guys think, should ford leave India?
