Ford to Offer Level 2 Performance Package for 2018 Mustang
Cross-shopping the Mustang with luxury sport coupes? Most likely not, but this package does increase the luxury factor of the American coupe.
According to an inside source at Ford, mustang6g.com has been supplied with the details on the previously-unknown "Tremor Package" option for the 2018 Mustang. Priced at $6,500, this is a step above the Performance Package currently available for the Ford Mustang.
The Tremor Package includes goodies such as 19-inch wheels, 3.73 LSD rear end, "High Series Police Brakes" (which are expected to be 6-pot Brembos), larger radiator, unique rear spoiler, and most importantly, a MagneRide damping system. Job #2 of 2018 Mustang production includes these options.
At a base price of $35,069, a 2018 Mustang GT with equipment group 301a plus the Tremor Package will retail at $44,495. This will put it in the same market segment as the BMW 4-series, Infiniti Q60, and Lexus RC. But, think about it this way - a Chevrolet Corvette can be had for ~$10,000 more if a base model can be found. Though the Mustang S550 chassis is a very impressive one, it has some stiff competition for those who are going to be cross-shopping performance coupes.
