Formula 2 Calendar Updated

You won't believe the changes they made! OK, you probably will but I got your attention.

Following the changes made to the 2021 Formula 1 calendar, Formula 2 has now followed suit in reaction. The final two rounds of the FIA Formula 2 Championship season, in Jeddah and Yas Marina respectively, will now take place a week later than planned, pending to World Motor Sport Council approval.

Round 7 in Saudi Arabia will now take place on December 3rd to 5th 2021, whilst the final round (round 8) in Abu Dhabi has been moved to 10th-12th December 2021. The changes have been made to accommodate for the Australian Grand Prix which was set to open the F1 season in March this year but will now take place in November, due to the ongoing situation regarding COVID-19.

The changes aren't major and also aren't particularly surprising so shouldn't impact the 2021 Formula 2 season very much.

Leave any thoughts you might have about the calendar changes in the comments below.

  • Not so excited for the last 3 tracks of the season if Jeddah turns out to be similar to Abu Dhabi/Russia 😬

    • Hopefully it turns out to be an exciting street track! Sochi and Yas Marina have their exciting moments but I know what you mean. Luckily F2 is quite exciting so we should be alright!
