Formula Drift Long Beach 2020 Canceled

11w ago

Formula Drift's season opener has been affected by COVID-19 (Coronavirus).

The city of Long Beach, California home to the event has canceled all events with 250 or more people and since Formula Drift Long Beach is one of the most popular drift events of the season, it was only a matter of time before it would be affected.

Many of the series' top talent are European drivers such as three time and current Formula Drift champion James Deane, his teammate Piotr Wiecek, and Fredric Aasbo could have also been affected by the US travel ban if they are not yet stateside.

Canceling the event can have some silver lining by allowing these drivers to make it stateside and allow more time for other drivers to finish their cars.

In the meantime, I hope this in car footage from Formula Drift Long Beach 2019 will hold you over.

    • Exactly! The only people who have died are either really old or they already have bad health issues!
