The FIA Formula E championship has released the names of the 10 teams committed for the 2017/18 season in the all-electric championship.

All the Season 3 entered teams will continue in Season 4, with Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler given the official manufacturer status, while NEXTEV being re-branded as NIO Formula E Team and Dragon Racing resorting to its old name, minus the Faraday Future branding.

The final list includes: Andretti Formula E , Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler , Dragon Racing , DS Virgin Racing , Mahindra Racing , NIO Formula E Team , Panasonic Jaguar Racing , Renault e.dams , TECHEETAH and Venturi Formula E Team.

Additionally, the championship has also revealed that teams will get a power hike of 10kW in the race mode, moving from 170kW to 180kW in the new season, with the qualifying power remaining as 200kW.

A bigger change comes in the points for the Fastest Lap in the race, which will now be awarded to only the drivers finishing in the Top 10. Earlier, teams used to get extra points through the fastest lap by not running the full race distance, in order to save energy to push for the quickest lap.

In fact, in Season 3, all the fastest lap points went to drivers finishing outside the Top 10 - which will be not possible now, under the new regulations.

Other changes by the organisers include:

- Elimination of a non-qualifying session when two races take place during the same event.

- Increase in the number of promotional days from three to six days per team with a maximum of 3 days on circuit, to promote roadshows.

- Addition of a practice session day during the season and a practice session day reserved for rookies.

The new season kick-starts with a double-header in Hong Kong during December 2-3 weekend, followed by races in Morocco (January 13), Chile (February 3), Mexico (March 3), Brazil (March 17), Italy (April 7), Paris (April 28), Germany (May 29), New York (July 7-8) and Canada (July 28-29) - with a yet to be confirmed race for June 23 after Germany and before New York.
