Formula One Sponsored Caravan Racing Needs To Be a Real Sport

It sure looks fun, doesn't it?

For a sport that has long been criticised as being a little too humorless and high brow, there sure are a lot of videos of F1 drivers mucking about. Not that I'm complaining, of course.

Here we have another video from Aston Martin Red Bull Racing featuring Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen. It begins with Max camping out at the Red Bull Ring for some reason, hunched over a fire and cooking up some sausages.

In rolls Ricciardo in an Aston Martin with a caravan attached, and with great dramatic effect, Max drops his sausage, mid-cook, in slow motion. He then proceeds to leap into HIS Aston with a caravan attached, and off they go.

The race goes about as well as one would expect for a supercar with a caravan attached. You'll get to see Verstappen nearly flip over as he loses control of his caravan, which then Ricciardo tries to match. It quickly devolves into a competition to see who can destroy their caravan first.

Jeremy and the boys would be proud.

  • It's soooo old.... It was a TV Show here in Holland back in 1995~1997 so although a Dutch Idea it was started and ended far before Verstappen Jr. was born. Here's a short video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=O1M8SzYdbxA

    • I don't care who did it first it's always a hoot and a half to watch people race with campers attached to their car.
