Forty 3rd: Based on a True event

A replica of a champion

Welcome to Forty 3rd where I showcase models within the 1/43 range and smaller and sometimes bigger. Happy New Year to everyone as I start the year with a nice classic model based on a true event. If you are a race fan, one of the races you probably heard is the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps which is a motor-racing circuit located in Stavelot, Belgium. It is also referred to as Spa and is the venue of the Formula One Belgian Grand Prix, and the Spa 24 Hours and 1000 km Spa endurance races.

In july of 1964 the Mercedes-Benz 300SE #102 driven by Robert Crevits and Gustave Gosselin won the 24 Hours Race Spa-Francorchamps.

Made by IXO, the model seen here is a 1/43 replica of the Mercedes that participated in that event.

Below is a photo of the actual Mercedes.
