Welcome to Forty 3rd where I showcase models within the 1/43 range and smaller and sometimes bigger. I love collecting FJ40 castings and had previously posted one made by Ebbro.

I bought this a few months ago and is the 1973 version made by a company called First: 43 models.

Even though the Land Cruiser is known for its reliability, I did encounter a serious QC issue.... with the model that is. The left turn signal light is missing/damaged when I received the merchandise. I then have to contact the overseas seller to informed them about the defect. There were a few back and forth emails before they finally informed me that they are waiting for the item to restock. Once the item arrived at their facility I was told to shipped the defective item back to them. Luckily they agreed to reimbursed me once I emailed them the tracking number and shipping cost.

Below is the defective one

All is not rosy however when it arrived. This time the side mirrors were bent but at least it was something I could fix.

Professor, I think this is the location where the fossil of the origin of the pre-evolved FJ40 was last seen.

I was disappointed with this company as it feels like their QC issue is comparable to M2 Machine. And when I looked underneath the box I was surprise that this model was made in a country that is not known for making collectible die cast at all. It indicated it was made in Bangladesh.
