Forza Horizon 4 is set in the UK: see it in action

Tea, crumpets, drifting…

2y ago

Microsoft has just unveiled Forza Horizon 4 – the latest entry in the fence-smashing, beach-drifting, car-modding arcade open-world racer. And it's set in the UK. And it has hovercrafts.

Oh yes.

The biggest difference to previous Horizon outings is the inclusion of seasons. They're not just there to mix up the looks either – lakes actually freeze in winter, opening up new locations and giving you an easy place to get ultimate drifts, presumably. We also spotted real live (virtual) sheep running out of the way of cars ploughing across fields.

Check out 9 cool details we discovered analysing the Forza Horizon 4 trailer!

There's also a 60fps option to smooth things out, although there's no word yet whether you'll need an Xbox One X to unlock this or not. Naturally, it's coming out on PC as well, and it'll be out on 2 October 2018. It'll also be included in the Xbox Game Pass.

We'll publish more details as and when we get them, but in the mean time watch the trailer and feast your eyes on the beautiful recreation of the UK countryside in our gallery.

  • They've clearly never been here, I didn't see a single pothole or lycra clad cyclist, let alone traffic jam...

  • One thing I would love to see is a option to enter a real racing circuit and either do a track day(General time attack) or race some cars themed to the area the game is set, for example British touring car championship or British GT if in Britain. Also a few Goodwood style classic racing car races

  • My only concern are Lootboxes n' shit. Let's hope that it does'nt go down that route.

  • That looks good and all but unless they’ve mapped the entire U.K. so I can park on my driveway I’ll remain unimpressed.

  • They do need to add the new Aston Martin Vantage and the new TVR Griffith though.......
