Forza Horizon 4 set for E3 unveiling, says Xbox bigwig

The latest Forza Horizon game is *shock horror* going to be unveiled at the 2018 Electronic Entertainment Expo, according to a Microsoft employee.

Those who have been pining for Forza Horizon 4 may not have to wait too long because the grand unveiling is said to be taking place at the 2018 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3).

That is according to Xbox division head of Spain and Portugal, Fernanda Delgado, who said in an interview with GameReactor (that has since vanished): "There have been many speculations about where the next Forza Horizon will be and that is what we will tell later at E3.”

Obviously Microsoft will be a little upset at any news of its latest racing game being released before E3 2018, which will take place from the 12th to the 15th of June.

But then it is hardly surprising given that there has been a new Forza game every year and that it is the turn of the Horizon series, which, unlike the Forza Motorsport games, take place in an open-world on public roads.

Facts are thin on the ground when it comes to Forza Horizon 4 beyond confirmation of its launch on PC and Xbox One. No doubt everything will be revealed, including that all-important release date, as June passes us by.

One of the bigger questions is which development studio will be at the helm of Forza Horizon 4? Playground Games, the Leamington Spa-based developer behind the Horizon series, is allegedly working on a new role-playing game (possibly Fable 4).

There is also the small matter of where Forza Horizon 4 will be set. According to rumours, potential candidates include Japan or Africa, either of which would work nicely.

As good as the Forza games can be, we would like to see some older Xbox racers return from the dead, including Project Gotham Racing. Because blitzing through London in a Ferrari while drifting between cones never loses its appeal.

On a related note, the Forza Motorsport 7 racing championship is in full swing. Details here, if you are interested.

  • Good shout on location it would be set in could be Dubai or Abu Dhabi. Would love to see one of the horizon games choose a location with a race circuit you can choose to do a track day or race racing cars. They could have done on the last game a Australian supercars race event as they race at surfers paradise.
