French F4: Kadarabad just misses on Top 10 result twice at Magny-Cours
The Indian had a better run in the second round of the championship.
After the first round in Nogaro, Vignesh Kadarabad returned to action in French F4 at Magny-Cours for the second weekend of 2021, where he started out with a 14th place finish in the lone practice session - improving on his final lap, as he continued his learning process.
The long qualifying saw Kadarabad finish 14th again. The Race 1 saw him gain a place at the start in his #53 machine, but by the end of the lap he lost it. From then on, it was a steady run until the end of the race, where he gained three places to finish 11th after trouble ahead.
The Race 2 saw Kadarabad start competitively from 11th to be ninth at one stage, but by midway, he dropped to 14th. He kept with the pack ahead and climbed up to 12th. However, a 30s time penalty dropped him to 14th in the final results.
The Race 3 had Kadarabad make another good start to gain a place to be 13th. He dropped back to 14th and steadied on, until the latter stages, where he gained two places to finish 12th. A post-race penalty to a rival, helped him to finish 11th again - just missing on a Top 10.
With two rounds done, under the FFSA Academy standings, Kadarabad is yet to open his points account, but under the FIA F4 standings, he sits 10th with 16 points - having scored in four of the six races he has done so far.
