French GT4: Rabindra/Vannelet secure Top 4 finish in Rd 2 at Magny-Cours
The Indo-French registered their best Pro-Am result in Race 1 of Round 2.
Akhil Rabindra continued his French GT4 Championship campaign with AGS Events Racing abode the #69 Aston Martin Vantage AMR in Round 2 of the 2020 season at Magny-Cours in France, in the Pro-Am category with teammate Gilles Vannelet.
The duo finished 17th and 26th in the two free practice sessions, where they were 10th and 14th in the Pro-Am category. With Vannelet driving in Qualifying 1, the team ended up 11th overall and were fourth in Pro-Am, while Qualifying 2 saw Rabindra finish 16th and ninth respectively.
It was a fighting Race 1 for Vannelet and Rabindra as they completed the 31-lap race in ninth overall and were fourth in Pro-Am class, with the results provisional at the moment due to investigations for overtaking under yellows by multiple drivers.
The Race 2 saw another fight where the team were poised for a good result until a late puncture when pushed off by rivals, which led them to be classified as 23rd overall with 30 laps completed from 32, as they were 11th in the Pro-Am category. After two rounds, Vannelet and Rabindra sit 11th in the Pro-Am drivers' standings with 20 points.
