Forty-five years one from its outright victory at the 1973 Sebring 12 Hours, this Carrera RSR went up the hill at Goodwood last month, piloted once again by race winner and endurance legend Hurley Haywood.
I was 19 with my new 914 1.7 and saw the Gregg/Haywood RSR overall win at Daytona 73 and then again with this RSR car at Sebring. Always wondered why they diverted from the classic Brumos colors for the 73 Sebring car. Then went to see Gregg in June 73 driving the BP RSR #48 at Le Mans. It was my Triple Crown of endurance races!
