G-Shock Gravitymaster for the Royal Air Force
The Royal Air Force x G-Shock GR-B200RAF-8A Gravitymaster watch is inspired by the Eurofighter Typhoon jet fighter
Earlier this year, Casio UK announced three new models created in collaboration with the RAF, the British Royal Air Force. The first model was unveiled in March (GG-B100BA-1A Mudmaster), the third one is scheduled for later this year / early 2021, and this is the second iteration, the one in the middle, the G-Shock GR-B200RAF-8AER Gravitymaster.
The G-Shock GR-B200RAF-8AER Gravitymaster, let's just call it the RAF shall we, is made from Carbon Core Guard, a carbon-reinforced plastic-based material created by Casio, and paired with a black carbon fibre bezel. The design takes its inspiration from the Eurofighter Typhoon jet fighter. You'll find the RAF logo on the resin band with a Latin motto 'Per Ardua ad Astra (through adversity to the stars) printed on the lower band and the inner case along with the Royal Air Force badge.
The RAF is powered by a G-Shock module with Bluetooth connectivity, altimeter-barometer functions along with a compass, a thermometer and a tracker.
We're probably looking at a best-seller, even though 350 pounds ain't cheap. People tend to appreciate military connections when it comes to watches, especially when we're talking about actual military issue and not just marketing. And it's a G-Shock, which means it's going to outlive everything and anything including 2020.
The RAF is priced at £349 in the UK and $370 in the US.
