Gasly set to replace Kvyat at Toro Rosso for Mexican GP
More musical chairs at Toro Rosso
There is set to be more musical chairs at Toro Rosso, as Daniil Kvyat is set to be axed for Gasly at the next race in Mexico City.
Kvyat rejoined Toro Rosso for the US GP after getting sidelined for Gasly at the Malaysian GP, however the team have now opted to replace the Russian with Brendon Hartley, the LMP1 winner from New Zealand.
Toro Rosso’s original plan was to run Kvyat and Gasly for the United States GP weekend, with Carlos Sainz gone to Renault, however Honda’s desire to keep Gasly in Japan for Super Formula – which eventually got cancelled – meant Red Bull were forced to look elsewhere. This resulted in the team picking up LMP1 winner Brendon Hartley.
