Gasly's win at the Italian GP is further proof that 2020 is beyond redemption

An absurd combination of unlikely events resulted in an absurdly unlikely podium at the Italian Grand Prix. With both Ferraris out (Leclerc had a spectacular crash, btw) and Hamilton penalized, Alpha Taury's Pierre Gasly won the race, his first GP win in Formula 1, ahead of Sainz (McLaren) Stroll (Racing Point). Further proof, once more, that 2020 is just beyond redemption, the gift that keeps on giving. All jokes aside, well done, Gasly. Well deserved win. Do you think he deserves another chance at Red Bull?

  • Everyone loves an underdog - especially in F1. Too often F1 racing seasons are a processional of the top 2 or 3 teams. Fans want exciting racing and stories of individual drivers giving super-human performances. We 'like' the mega technology of the cars (because they are the fastest on the planet), but it's the human element that really wins our hearts.

  • Firstly, best race in a long time - more of this please. Secondly, No, Gasly should stay with Alpha Tauri, the team obviously suits him and he seems to be flourishing there - can you imagine what it would do to him if he did go back to Red Bull and got shafted again?

  • Gasly should go to Renault eventually, or Ferrari if Ferrari finally gets their act together after the new regs come in.
