Getting ready for 2021

A Porsche to aspire to. The clubsport 993 RS homage and some casual racism.

I WANT IT TO BE AS NICE TO DRIVE AS IT LOOKS. BILSTEINS B6 IN, SO WHY DOES IT DRIVE LIKE THAT? OH ITS 26 YEARS OLD THAT'S WHY.

STARTING WITH A BASE PORSCHE CARRERA 2 AUTO, I GATHERED MY PARTS I'VE SAVED UP, SOME FROM BERGVILLE FX, SOME FROM GRUPPE M.

My house littered with a multitude of parts, forums open on my desktop deciding what direction i'd like to go with my car, and armed with a few thousand pounds to make it happen, i began my journey. The journey of seeing the Blacks of the outdoor equipment shop fame, family running around Birkenhead in their Carrera 993 4s in burgundy when i was 15 mouth dropped to the floor aghast at the beauty and aspiring to own one. I made the mistake of buying a Porsche 996 Turbo in 2005 and losing thousands in selling and fixing it. Some may say 'whats wrong with the 996 Turbo?', well, nothing unless you need to fix various door mechanisms and the depreciation cutting your legs beneath you. It is now of course 10 years later since i bought that car and it is now appreciating in value by the 5 figure mark. Good for the ones who invested in them. I will never own another 996 Turbo, although i did miss my stainless exhaust note.

It's an obsession, honestly.

Armed with suspension from eBay, a second hand Matter roll cage i purchased off an enthusiast gentleman who now owns an white modern Alpine, some aftermarket dash caps, and some replica parts from a popular 911 tuning company from Essex , i started my journey. I of course cannot afford a genuine RS as they can (searching the interweb) got for up to nearly half a million quid. So the homage way was the way to go.

Which way would you go? Well i dived into fixing eveything and installing the RS kit but needed to fix the worn out seats so off i email aoenterprises on ebay.... if you're of A. Chinese descent or B. a communist, do not buy off this 'bigely' American ebayer, they sell very cheap seat covers for the 993 and thought 'perfect' but was immediately blamed for not having marble grey seat covers because of 'commuinist China virus'. I was shocked as i had not let on i was Chinese and he went on a rant, if you see his reviews he does not like China at all. Sigh, so I will find a decent leather specialist in the UK when the shops are allowed to reopen as we are in our third lockdown. So at the moment, she sleeps.
