Golf 8 gains expected estate variant
The recipe stays familiar; prices start from £24,575
Volkswagen has just announced an estate version of its latest Golf, as the eighth generation's portfolio continues to expand with new models.
The new Golf estate promises an extra 35cm of length compared to the standard hatchback, and up to 1,642 litres of boot space with the back seats folded down. In almost every dimension, the new estate is larger than the previous seventh generation.
Lisa Hartley, Product Manager at VW UK describes the new estate as "our best yet".
"It's bigger, more advanced and more refined," she said.
The engine lineup will be familiar to anyone who knows the Golf range. It kicks off with a 110hp 1.0TSI, and tops out with the 1.5 eTSI mild-hybrid pushing 150hp. Diesel is covered with the familiar 2.0TDI unit in 150 or 200hp states of tune.
The estate's £24,575 starting price represents a £1,275 price premium over the standard hatchback and is available to order from today.
