  • On the technical practical side, when your in the 500HP Neighborhood..

a unexpected two gear drop may get you into trouble. On my challenger I would lay into it enough to drop one gear then floor it to drop a second gear. A sudden two gear drop would lose traction at 70 mph. This could be really bad a lower speed pulls.

  • Went to doing it myself as soon as the warranty expired. Amsoil. Then promptly traded it for a Corvette 😬

    • I have a major soft spot for Corvettes... my brother has a ‘66 and dad has a ‘65.

    • The C7 is a spectacular car. Not a muscle car like the challenger. More like a race car you can drive around.

  • Do it myself. Save some money and it's therapeutic.

  • Do you perform your own Challenger maintenance or do you have it serviced at a shop? @tribe

  • You would think shift paddles would be sufficient, but it’s just not.

    • Yeah, better than old 3-4 speed slushboxes, but getting a proper heel-toe and slamming into gear still wins for fun, even if it no longer wins the race.

    • I think you will get this. The C7 with the Z51 package has a lower gear ratio that makes it a four speed with three over drives. It will pull 109 in third and 151 in forth. Sounds like a four speed to me.
