Good news! Renault breaks a world record with the Sandero in Brazil.
The Sandero are a very well-known hatchback that with the launch of the Sandero RS, become the first hot hatch to be developed for the Latin American market and it just become the character of a brand new world record, where 192 units of the hot hatch came to the circuit of Interlagos for a event organized by Renault, a track day where the owners of the funnier version of the Sandero could feel a bit more the limits of their cars on a racetrack.
Those who went to Interlagos for the RS Track Day in the last Sunday (June 29, 2018) could feel the limits of their cars, being them stock R.S or tuned/customized as it were the case of some of them, that had harder shock absorbers and engine remaps, for example while others even had a special paintjob, as it were the case of a Sandero in R.S Yellow, a colour that aren’t available for it officially, but are a classical on other RS models.
With a 2.0 150 hp MT engine, an upgraded suspension, sportive seats and steering wheel (a smaller one, from the Clio RS – unavailable in Brazil) and a new bodykit, the Sandero RS are the cheapest sportive car available in the Brazilian market, one of the joys of brazilian car passionates as it is one of the few models where the “sportive” goes to a real performance increase instead of just some red touches and new fenders, something that is very common in the Brazilian market (as you can understand with this DT article, wrote by Caio Reinhart on his tribe: bit.ly/2vqJChH). With prices that starts in R$ 66.490 BRL (13,48 GBP) for the base model and in R$ 69,390 BRL (14,07 GBP) for the Racing Spirit version, the Sandero R.S shows that there are space in the Latin-American Market for real hot hatches like the Clio R.S and the Sandero itself, even with the Golf GTI being avaliable in the Brazilian market, but not for reasonable prices...
