goodbye audi, goodbye mark. see you somewhere

So the 2016 season of WEC is over and it is twice as sad because of losing racedrivers and teams left for the best

It was last grid and last race for incredible Mark Webber who still stays with Porsche but will do no more racing and it was the last WEC race for Audi who leave for Formula E. And that was the last race for several teams and drivers at other categories, especially LMP2 because of new regulations.

But that was really amazing race for LMP2 G-Drive Racing #26 (Roman Rusinov/Rene Rast/Alex Brundle who were disqualified after the qualification, started from the last place on the grid and still won the race in LMP2! I don’t know how they did it, but they did, and it was an amazing victory. I’m proud of that Russian racing team!

At the after-race press-conference Roman joked that it was their real plan – first to lose all and then to win all, but it was clear that until the very last minutes of the race no one could be quite sure in the results. So great job guys, impressive job!!

No good results for SMP Racing, but now after they made a deal with Dallara for constructing a new car for LMP1 category for 2018 all their thoughts and finances are there. So we just have to wait, pray a little and see the results.

It was a tearful race for Audi at Sahir as the last one over 18 thrilling years in WEC, but they had double podium in Bahrain and were happy and crying and leaving. So far we wish them all the best, they are good friends and strong competitives!

Porsche… Porsche are the champions again! And that is the best news for me :)

See you next year!
