Gordon Murray leaks info on a T.50S that will be track only
It has 700+ horsepower and is illegal to drive on the road
As you know the Mclaren F1 has been re-imagined by its original creator Gordon Murray as the GMA T.50. The "normal" T.50 is powered by a cosworth V12 that can rev up to 12,100 rpm. The engine also can produce 654 horsepower and it only weighs 2,174 pounds. Like the Mclaren F1 and the Mclaren Speedtail it has three seats and a manual transmission. One of the most craziest features that has never been seen is its fan on the back than can spin up to 7,000 rpm to create downforce.
Anyways the T.50S will have 730 horsepower and will be only for the track. Only 15 will be built and they all have been sold for $4 million each. Gordon Murray claims that "T.50S" is a place holder name for the time being and it is going to get a "historical" name in the future. The T.50S will have lots of aerodynamic components including a long rear wing that will enable the car to generate 3,300 pounds of downforce which is insane to think about considering it overcomes the mass of the hyper-car itself. Instead of a manual it will have a six-speed X-track gearbox to make it more track focused and competition ready.
The T.50 has modified cylinder heads, a new intake manifold, new camshafts, new exhaust system and a much higher compression ratio to boost it past 700 horsepower. All 100 road going T.50 models have been sold and so has the T.50S so sorry if you were going to buy one.
Well that's all I have for you today, but I am looking forward to writing about more cars in the future. Thanks to all of you who read my articles! have a lovely day!
