It’s safe to assume that Gordon Murray, designer of icons such as the McLaren F1, has high standards when it comes to his personal cars. A favorite of mine would be this green Zagato, restored and modified by Alfaholics to his own dream specification.

The car is based on the Alfa Romeo 1300 GT Junior Zagato, distinguishable from the more powerful 1600 model by having a shorter rear overhang. Alfaholics have stripped the shell bare and fully restored it. Necessary structural modifications were made as well as forming aluminium door skins to go with a pair of Ferrari Dino door handles, a front grill redesign and a RHD conversion.

The Zagato is equipped with the full suspension and braking packages you’d find on Alfaholics more well recognized GTA-R models. The similarities between the two models don’t end there though, the 230+ HP 2.1 litre twin spark engine, close ratio gearbox, LSD built axle and 15" GTA style wheels are all components the two have in common.

Many modern creature comforts have been added to make this a perfect sporting GT car, such as LED headlights, heated windscreen, remote central locking and boot release. The interior has been fully re-trimmed in black leather and Alcantara, with custom heated seats and electric windows to really set it off.

Lots of us are split by our opinions on resto-modding rare classic cars, but for me, this Alfaholics Zagato-R is one of the finest cars money can buy.

Amazing, both Alfaholics and Gordon Murray make incredible cars. Personally I prefer the regular GTA-R but that car still looks unbelievable.
