For those who have wanted to drive the Alpine A110 Premiere Edition, a car motoring journalists have been raving about, today is your lucky day because the French two-seater sports car has made its digital debut in the latest Gran Turismo Sport update.

Not only that, developer Polyphony Digital has added its predecessor, the 1972 Alpine A110 1600S, and the ridiculously fast Subaru WRX STI used to try and give superbikes a run for their money at the legendary Isle of Man TT course.

Other digital additions include the incredibly powerful Gran Turismo F1500T-A (yours for a million credits), which combines 986hp and a very low kerb weight for old-school formula car shenanigans.

Then there is the 2007 Audi R8 4.2 R Tronic, which was, of course, the V8-powered (and very noisy) precursor to the brilliant R8 V10 Plus, V10 Plus Spyder and RWS versions we have nowadays.

Fans of Japanese metal will also appreciate the 1997 Toyota MR2 GT-S and 1988 Toyota Supra 3.0GT Turbo A. Fans of American muscle, meanwhile, can cruise around in the 1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1 and 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T.

Rounding off the list is the Italian De Tomaso Pantera, Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 from 2011 and the Subaru Falken Tyres / Turn 14 Distribution BRZ from 2017.

There are also three new events for the GT League. Stars & Stripes is an all-American sports car race in the beginner league, Vision Gran Turismo features specified 'VGT' vehicles and F1500 Championship is for the aforementioned F1500T-A.

New rounds have also been added to the Sunday Cup, Clubman Cup, Premium Sport Lounge and Porsche Cup and the Blue Moon Bay Speedway now has two new infield layouts, complete with reverse versions for a total of four permutations.

As for dealing with pesky griefers in the Sport Mode, there is now a way to report them and those who cut corners or cause collisions too often will be given penalties or potentially even disqualified.

Cars that are a lap behind are ghosted, too, meaning those at the front of the pack won't have their race ruined by backmarkers. Rejoice those who actually play the game properly (or at least try to).

The update for Gran Turismo Sport is available now and will take up 2.7GB of your precious hard drive space. All update revisions can be found right here.

  • What are your thoughts on the game? I own all GT games up to sport but have not bought it as the car dynamics have always been dull, understeering boxes. Other sims are more realistic and hardcore. What are your thoughts? is sport another arcade racer as I suspect it is?

    • I have never played the other episodes of it, but I played project car, forza motorsport, Assetto Corsa,... And I admit that it isn't the best game and not the most realistic one, but it makes fun and they adds a lot of new things cars, maps, etc....

  • Its great that they are still adding cars and that they are FREE!! I'm currently trying to earn enough credits for all of these cars! Have bought quite a number of them but still not quite got to the R8, Aventador and Pantera which I need to get hold of to have a go in.

    • I was lucky enough to win the Time Attack Subaru Impreza for the daily workout prize so that's one of the expensive cars ticked off the list, now to save for the others!

  • De Tomaso is an italian brand, only the founder was born in Argentina and the engine is from Ford, so it comes from the US. Quite an international car😄

    • Yes you're bang on, I'll adjust. Think it was the Argentinian company owner that made me think that!
