Grey is the UK’s favourite car colour
At this time of the year, everything seems to be grey coloured. The roads, the skies and now it seems that all the cars are too.
Over half a million new British drivers have bought a grey-coloured car in 2018. Figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) show that just over one in five of the 2.4 million new cars purchased were painted grey.
Grey, black and white were the top three most popular colours, making up for 59% of the total amount of cars sold.
The grey paint obsession ranged across England, Wales and Northern Ireland but stopped at Scotland, where the Scots opted for white painted motors instead.
Cream suffered the biggest drop, with only 599 cars registered, which is down -34% compared to last year.
Yellow cars were also been hit with the same percentage drop, as fewer drivers attempt to brighten up the dull, grey roads.
