Grip: Combat Racing joins Forza Horizon 4 on Xbox Game Pass
Yet another racing game that you can pay as part of the Xbox Game Pass subscription. But this one has big weapons.
In the build up to the Grip: Combat Racing release date, developer Caged Element has announced it will be available to play if you have Xbox Game Pass.
Grip: Combat Racing and its 15 vehicles is less concerned with lap times although being fast helps. It's more about unleashing bullet, missile, laser and fire death on anyone who dares drive in front of you.
Being futuristic means space-age scenery will zoom past you as you either take on AI opponents, or up to 10-player online multiplayer. Four-player split-screen racing is available, too, across all 22 tracks set on four different planets.
Back when we first heard about Grip: Combat Racing, Caged Element said it was prioritising 'dramatic downforce', which means you can go upside down at up to 767mph, and 'balancing competitive gameplay'.
Should you tire of blowing up other racers, you can blow up the environment with any of the nine weapons and power-ups.
There are also five Arena battle maps, 19 point-to-point runs and a single-player campaign, all of which can be enjoyed while you nod your head to 24 drum and bass tracks, including a few from Hospital Records.
The Toronto-based developer has already made Grip: Combat Racing available on Steam Early Access. Its console launch is the 6th of November, 2018, on Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Xbox One.
Xbox Game Pass is a subscription-based service that gives you unlimited access to a catalogue of games on Xbox One and Xbox 360, including the brilliant Forza Horizon 4. You can get a free 14-day trial, after which it costs £7.99 a month (you can cancel at any time).
