Grosjean survives a terrible crash in the Bahrain Grand Prix
The outcome could have been fatal
French racer Romain Grosjean has been victim of a terrible accident that happened a few moments after the start of the 2020 Bahrain Grand Prix. It was at the exit of the second corner of the circuit that his Formula 1 car came into contact with that of the Russian Daniil Kyvat.
The French was then thrown off the track against a wall that cut his car in half. His vehicle then quickly caught fire and the race was interrupted. He managed to get out of the machine rapidly.
His hands and ankles were burned, which is not much considering the violence of the impact. Grosjean will also have inhaled for a few seconds the toxic fumes emitted by the car.
The driver was fortunate to have been conscious after the accident so that he could quickly extricate himself from the vehicle, otherwise the consequences could have been much more serious.
