GT4 Europe: Rabindra/Conde just miss Silver class Top 10 in Race 1 at Spa
While they retired from Race 2, they were close to points in Race 1.
The pair of Akhil Rabindra and Hugo Conde continued their 2021 GT4 Europe campaign at Spa-Francorchamps in Round 4 with AGS Events Racing in the #45 Aston Martin Vantage in Silver class. They started the weekend finishing 33rd and 34th in overall standings in the two practice sessions.
The Qualifying 1 saw Conde end up 23rd overall and 13th in Silver class for Race 1, whereas Qualifying 2 saw Rabindra finish 22nd overall and 12th in Silver class for Race 2. It was a tricky weekend overall with rain affecting the proceedings pretty much.
Conde ran around 22nd and 23rd in early phases of Race 1 at Spa-Francorchamps, but lost couple of places to be 25th when the pit window opened. He handed the car to Rabindra, who joined the grid in 24th and moved up to 21st after multiple FCY/SC periods.
But by the end of the race, he was 23rd overall and 11th in Silver class - just missing on a Top 10 result. The Race 2 saw a wet start as Rabindra drop to 26th in early part of the race which saw a safety car period, but the Indian moved up to 22nd when the pit window opened.
The pit stop didn't work for the team as Conde emerged 31st . He could recover one place but they eventually did not finish as mechanical issues ended their race two laps from the end. While the Indo-French duo are still to score, AGS Events is third in the teams' standings of Silver class.
The duo finished both the races, fighting all-through, but no points yet.
