GTA V has a very in-depth auto industry
For a game that primarily focused on guns, drugs and other tomfoolery, Grand Theft Auto has a rather extensive collection of cars to choose from.
While there are plenty of racing games to play, with real physics and real cars, every now and then, its fun to take a step back and appreciate the completely fake, but still incredibly vehicles produced by companies like Albany, Lampadati, Ubermacht, and Phister. I'm talking about the world of Grand Theft Auto.

GTA's auto industry is downright impressive. It takes effort to create copies of some of the world's most iconic cars, but it's even more impressive when you consider the fact that each "company" has their own logos, and lineups, that make for some pretty interesting conversations. For those of us who wonder what it would be like if automakers actually produced their concept cars, we don't have to pretend, because most of them are available to drive in GTA.

Take this Albany V-STR for example. We don't have to wait for Cadillac to actually produce the CT5-V Blackwing, because its available right now for our virtual enjoyment. This is the theme with a bunch of other vehicles that are available in GTA that aren't out yet in the real world.

The Invertero Coquette D10 is another prime example of what GTA's car scene has to offer, all of the fun and power of the C8 Corvette, but there's no stop sale on this American made dream machine.
The other thing that is particularly interesting is how GTA advertises their vehicles. Take a look at this ad for the Pfister Neon. It's got all of the qualities of a proper Porsche, even down to the font at the end of the ad.
The thing I find particularly interesting about GTA's car scene, is that it doesn't need to exist. Rockstar as a company is capable of producing real-life vehicles, and in games like L.A. Noire and Midnight Club feature real-world vehicles, so there's nothing really from stopping Rockstar from producing real vehicles in their fake world, except of course, for the jokes. The Obey Tailgater for example, perfectly encapsulates the aggressive driving behaviors of German sports sedan owners, while the Dundreary Landstalker carries the torch for the military-grade mall crawlers that dot our parking lots in reality.

It is art that imitates life, and I love every single vehicle in this made up world, even the Benefactor Panto. For more information on the seemingly infinite list of fake cars in the Grand Theft Auto series, check out the GTA Wiki by clicking here.
