Guy does a burnout in a Ford Mustang and guess what happens next...

Right in the pole!

Doing a show in a Ford Mustang is not something you can improvise, especially when you know that the muscle car has the annoying tendency to crash in the seconds following the performance. Fully aware of the problem, the owner of a Mustang made the wise decision to do his burnout in a particularly clear street.

But this was clearly an underestimation of the Mustang's knack for crashing into anything on the roadside. Indeed, after warming up his rear tyres, the driver of the muscle car took off at full speed before losing control of his vehicle. The car then unsurprisingly went off the road and ran straight into a pole.

The event took place in the United States, with no further information on the exact location of the incident. As for the car itself, it can be seen that it is a fifth generation V8 Mustang as evidenced by the raucous sound captured on video. Fortunately, the driver was not injured, but the vehicle clearly was.

  • I'm a GM and Camaro fanboy and naturally biased against Ford and the Mustang, but I have to say I've seen all Big Three muscle cars get wrecked from idiots with more money than talent (Mustang, Camaro, Challenger). As someone who used to bracket drag race with mildly modified Cam/Birds, I can advise on rule #1 for burnouts. If the car starts getting wonky, do NOT let up on the gas pedal. Slowly back down on the throttle. If you just take your foot off, the car will snap back to traction and you will not be prepared for the direction it is headed, which is clearly what happened here.

However, the biggest idiot award of all goes to all the bozos who film video in portrait mode and puts them on Youtube where the orientation is landscape for computer screens (phones can be turned horizontally for filming and viewing the last time I checked).

EDIT: After a few replays, I'm surprised the power pole transformer did not blow up. This untalented moron is lucky he didn't bring down power lines on top of him. You can see the entire pole bend like rubber on impact. It wouldn't have taken much more velocity to bring that thing down on top of him.

    • Well in all fairness this event needed to be reported to law enforcement - otherwise more charges would be tacked on for not reporting it. Especially when a life-sustaining utility was put at risk. What's going to suck for the dumbass driver...

    • Yep. We have all done dumbass things in our youth some of which, at least for me, could have been really bad had things gone wrong (like me seeing how fast I could get my '87 Trans Am GTA to top out on a remote 2-land road). Anything could have...
