At the end of 2020, we were treated to the latest adventure with Clarkson, Hammond and May, which saw them go on 'A Massive Hunt' for buried pirate treasure in Madagascar.

Of course, with everything happening last year, the release took a little longer than planned, with a full 12 months wait for the show to hit screens around the world through Amazon Prime Video.

So, while we may be waiting a while for the next special - filmed in Scotland - Mr Richard Hammond himself promises us that it will be worth the (potentially very long) wait, saying that the trio are back "on form" during an interview with The Express.

Jeremy confirmed that the next special would be based in Scotland last year, with plenty of leaked clips and videos of the trio filming courtesy of lucky bystanders, though - other than the cars featured - virtually nothing was released about the plot of the show, meaning we Grand Tour fans have plenty of suspense to look forward to.

So, how long are we going to be waiting? Well, even Hammond is not sure, saying "I don't know when it's going to be on... but I never do, so...."

β€œIt really was us, three idiots, doing what we do. It felt great, really enjoyable shoot. So I think that's gonna be a tremendous show" he told The Express.

Scotland wasn't always the planned location for the next special, but with international travel all but shut-down due to the ongoing pandemic, other plans had to be put in place, which saw the trio head 'north of the border' into the glorious Scottish landscape.

Finally, there may be more good news for GT fans - Hammond hinted that there would be another special on the way, saying that they would "try and do the same this year" when asked about future plans.

So, while we may have to wait a while for the next Grand Tour special to drop, it will be worth the wait!
