Hammond involved in 'his best' crash during Grand Tour filming
Hammond's managed to crash yet again. This time, it happened while filming an episode in Scotland.
Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, James May and the Grand Tour film crew have been stalked on social media in recent weeks as the trio travelled Scotland to film an upcoming episode, and in a recent article by Clarkson, he stated that Hammond had a bit of an accident.
The three have been spotted on multiple occasions, completing tasks such as towing caravans around the Scottish highlands in three old American muscle cars. Modifications were made to the caravans to complete various activities, but ditched later as cameras focused attention on the cars themselves.
The cars in question; a Cadillac, Lincoln and Buick, underwent extensive modifications, from superchargers and side-exit exhausts to slick tyres. A drag race has been rumoured.
Filming the episode has been trickier for the team than usual with Covid-19 restrictions, but they managed to complete filming in just nine days.
Clarkson stated in his piece “all the cameras were rolling when Hammond had his customary accident. It was a good one... Probably his best yet, mainly because he didn’t actually hurt himself. I guess that’s lucky because, strictly speaking, he wouldn’t have been allowed by the Covid rules to go in a stranger’s air ambulance.”
Luckily, Hammond wasn't injured in the accident, so considering it was captured on cameras from all angles, this should make for an exciting event to look forward to.
