So the new Dodge Charger and Challenger are due very soon, not because they have been out too long, but because they happen to be based off a 1990s Mercedes. Hmm...
The couple were not expected until 2023, however Ralph Giles, FCA Head of Design posted this on Instagram the other day. He stated that he was 'Still having virtual design reviews while we self-isolate and work from home.' He also said that 'We are NEVER to show future product on social media I have made an exception this time as this experimental design of a #Dodge of the future fell on the cutting room floor...because the designer decided to make the yellow spoiler guards a permanent part of the theme. We had a really good laugh about it though! #fcadesign'
Although this sketch may seem insignificant, it does give us a few pointers as to what the new Charger and Challenger will look like. Firstly, the dual, flattened-off lights are likely to feature in the upcoming models and the yellow guards may feature, after all, so many Dodge owners kept theirs on!
